Mikel Obi - It Is Very Hard To Find A Good Wife In Nigeria

Mikel Obi - It Is Very Hard To Find A Good Wife In Nigeria
Mikel Obi recently spoke to Kayode Tijani about his life and other issues. But this is what caught our attention in the interview; where he spoke about marriage.
‘I know, normal people don’t go through what I am going through now when it concerns finding a Wife to marry, and normal people don’t at all. Believe me it’s so so difficult, very difficult, it’s so so difficult you just have to leave it to God. There might be someone who really loves me truly for who I am but I may not be aware and maybe you don’t know… or you may think she’s one of those who loves you for who you are or what you have, or because of your money, maybe she’s there for you, you never know, you get so confused, now I have decided I will just leave it to God to decide who I get married to’.

Dame Patience Jonathan Sick Again, In Europe For Treatment

Dame Patience Jonathan Sick Again, In Europe For Treatment
According to SaharaReporters, Nigeria's First Lady, Patience Jonathan, is sick again and is shuttling between Spain and Germany in search of treatment.
A source also told SaharaReporters that the First Lady was also contemplating receiving medical treatment from a US hospital.
Mrs. Jonathan's renewed health woes have accounted for her absence from several official events in Abuja and her home state of Bayelsa State over the last few days. A few days ago, Mrs. Jonathan made a quiet exit from Abuja en route to France where she was to allegedly receive some unspecified award. However, a source within the Presidency told SaharaReporters that Mrs. Jonathan's trip to France was a ploy to enable her to shop for new doctors in Europe for her deteriorating health.
A source disclosed that she left France for Spain. The same source disclosed that the First Lady was considering being moved to a US hospital today. However, a source in the US who is close to the First Family told SaharaReporters that he was "not heard from the first lady regarding her trip to the US."
Ayo Osinlu, a spokesman of the First Lady, told SaharaReporters that Mrs. Jonathan was in Europe in order to care for an ailing elderly woman who helped raise the First Lady. He failed to disclose the specific European nation where Mrs. Jonathan's foster mother is hospitalized. During Mrs. Jonathan's first extended medical sojourn in Germany, Mr. Osinlu had misled reporters by declaring that the First Lady was merely vacationing abroad after what he described as a series of grueling official functions, including the hosting of a conference of African First Ladies.
Mrs. Jonathan was noticeably absent from a Friday church service organized at the presidential villa yesterday as part of Easter celebrations. She was also missing at another key event where her Africa First Ladies Peace Mission donated relief material to the war-torn country of Mali. An aide of the First Lady reported that a minister, Ms. Jumoke Akinjide, represented Mrs. Jonathan at the event where relief material was donated to Mali. During the church service at the Presidential Villa, President Jonathan was flanked by his elderly mother, Eunice Jonathan, as well as Petroleum Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke and Ndudi Elumelu, a member of the House of Representatives indicted for corruption in power sector projects. Mrs. Alison-Madueke, who has been romantically linked to Mr. Jonathan, wore a large diamond ring at the church service. One of the last times Mrs. Jonathan was seen in public was on her return from an official visit to Cote d'Ivoire on March 2, 2013.
She later made a brief visit to Lagos where she attended a dinner organized for Nollywood stars. Afterwards, she was sighted in Paris where she received the "Global Women Leader for Peace Award 2013." Since receiving the award on March 17, the First Lady has not been seen in any official photos released from the Presidency. Her trip to Paris coincided with her husband's official visit to Equatorial Guinea. Mr. Jonathan was accompanied on that official visit by two female ministers, Stella Oduah of Aviation and Ms. Diezani of Petroleum. A source in Abuja said Mrs. Jonathan had not been seen in public for close to a week and half, including during a breakfast meeting with the members of the House of Representatives led by Leo Ogor on March 21, 2013. A few weeks ago, Mrs. Jonathan was at the center of an obscene event where she loquaciously celebrated her ostensible "resurrection from the dead" after dying for more than a week.
Some 5,000 guests attended the event at the villa which was televised live, with Pastor Oritsejafor presiding. At the event, Mrs. Jonathan claimed to have undergone several surgeries during her medical sojourn in Germany. The extended medical visit, which was first reported by Saharareporters, cost Nigeria close to 5 million Euros in medical expenses. Mrs. Jonathan's aides had initially passed off her medical trip as a vacation. On her return from Germany, Mrs. Jonathan had also denied ever going for medical treatment. Saharareporters contacted several presidential aides seeking information about Mrs. Jonathan's whereabouts, but they failed to return our reporters' phone calls and text messages. (SaharaReporters)

Explosions rock Kano along the Zaria Road highway

Explosions rock Kano along the Zaria Road highway
Reports from Kano say an explosion has occurred around Unguwa Uku along the Zaria Road highway.

A resident of the area said the Joint Task Force, JTF, has already arrived the area and cordoned off the explosion site thereby blocking the ever busy highway.

He also said casualty figures, if any, cannot be ascertained now because of the restriction of access to the area.

Another explosion is also reported around the restive Eastern Bye pass area.

Premium Times is unable to confirm the incidents at the moment.

Efforts to reach the spokesperson of the JTF, Lazarus Eli, were unsuccessful as his lines were continuously busy.

Diepreye Alamieyeseigha’s saga: FG may review pardon list

Diepreye Alamieyeseigha’s saga: FG may review pardon list
Following alleged errors in the list of those pardoned alongside ex-Governor Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, the Federal Government may review the list of beneficiaries.

There were strong indications that the pardon granted a former Army Major, Bello Magaji, could be reversed.

The full list of the beneficiaries will be unveiled in a gazette to be released soon by the government. The gazette will also determine those who will eventually benefit from the entitlements that would be paid by the military or relevant government agencies.

The Council of State had on March 12, 2013 pardoned Alamieyeseigha alongside a former Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters, the late Maj.-Gen. Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, and some military officers implicated in the 1995 and 1997 military coups against the late Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha.

Others on the pardon list are a former Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Oladipo Diya; a former Minister of Communications, Gen. Tajudeen Olanrewaju; a former Minister of Works, the late Gen. Abdulkareem Adisa; a former Managing Director of the defunct Bank of the North, Alhaji Shettima Bulama; Dr. Chichi Ashwe and ex-Army Major, Bello Magaji, among others.

The amnesty was granted by President Goodluck Jonathan in line with the powers conferred on him by Section 175 of the 1999 Constitution.

Although the presidency has kept the list of the recipients under wraps, findings revealed that some errors had been noticed.

It was however learnt that the errors might be reviewed in the enabling gazette which will contain the full list of beneficiaries.

A reliable source, who spoke in confidence, said the gazette is expected to be explicit on the list of beneficiaries, the terms of the pardon and their entitlements.

The source said: “There are one or two errors in the list of those pardoned. The lapses may be corrected in the forthcoming gazette.

“By the time the gazette is released, Nigerians will know the real beneficiaries of the pardon. Since the Council of State approved the pardon, there have been enquiries from the government by those involved in the 1995 and 1997 coups.

“Some of the coup convicts had been asking about their status since no official announcement was made by the government after the Council session. Thisis a major gap the government will fill with the gazette.”

Responding to a question, the source added: “Another error is the pardon granted ex-Major Bello Magaji, who was convicted and sentenced to five years jail term for sodomy or homosexuality by a military court (General Court Martial) in 1996.

“ Magaji, a former military police officer attached to the Lagos Garrison Command, was accused of having serial sex with four male students of the Army Cantonment Boys Secondary School, Ojo Cantonment, Lagos.

“I think it has been discovered that Magaji’s name was allegedly smuggled into the list of those pardoned and erroneously categorised as one of those convicted for phantom coup.

“A lot of people protested that such a pardon will promote indiscipline in the armed forces.
“Also, since the National Assembly is opposed to homosexuality, it will look absurd for the President to pardon a homosexual.

“As a matter of fact, the Senate in November 2011 passed an anti-gay resolution. So, how Magaji’s name crept into the list has been a riddle in government circle. It can create a problem between the presidency and the National Assembly.

“ Some countries have also been asking about the real position of the Nigerian government on lesbianism since Magaji was pardoned. So, you can understand why the list may be reviewed.”

Gunmen kill nine in fresh attack as truck crushes four beggars in Plateau State

Gunmen kill nine in fresh attack as truck crushes four beggars in Plateau State
Nine more people have been killed by gunmen in an attack on Ratas village of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, just as four beggars were Friday crushed to death near the Jos Central Mosque when a truck driver lost control and ran over them where they were seated begging for arms.
The incident happened at about 4.30 pm.

The killing at Ratas is alleged to have been carried out by the same gun men who killed about 20 people in two villages of Bokkos Local Government area a few days ago.
They were believed to have capitalized on the massive deployment of members of the Special Task Force (STF) from their posts in the area to Bokkos LGA to attack the village.
Chairman, Management Committee of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area Mr. Emmanuel Loman who attended the mass burial of those killed confirmed the attack.
He said the attackers fleeing from Bokkos LGA following the massive deployment of troops to the area attacked the village as they were escaping and raised an alarm that the movement of the suspected Fulani militia had also been noticed around Gashish in the LGA.
He warned that they could unleash terror on the people of the area unless something was done urgently to repel them.
Also confirming the Ratas killings, acting spokesman of the STF Navy Lt. Jude Akpa said the force responded promptly on hearing the report of the attack but the gunmen had fled before they arrived there.
He said members of the STF took those injured to hospital for treatment on arrival at the village.

Sandra Iwu - No big deal posing semi-nude

Sandra Iwu - No big deal posing semi-nude
Sandra Iwu tells ’Nonye Ben-Nwankwo about her love for modelling

How did modelling start?
My modelling career began in Lagos at Catwalk Studio, Ikeja. That was where I was groomed and I began runway modelling.

Before now, the profession was frowned upon. How were you able to convince your people that you wanted to be a model?
I was already in gymnastics before I became a model. So my parents felt that it was one of those extra-curricular activities that keep children going. So, I had no problem with them.

You were once a beauty queen, tell us what made you participate in in that pageant.
I had watched several beauty pageants and I felt that one day, it could become my turn to show the world what I have got. The interest and courage of stardom made me to contest and I did. Starting from my days at Lagos State University where I became the Most Beautiful Girl in LASU in 2006 and Miss Galaxy in 2007/2008.

It is believed that most beauty queens and models date prominent men? How true is this?
It is true and not true. True in the sense that a lot of prominent men do go out of their way to date a beauty queen just to prove to their friends that they can do it. They will spoil the girl with lots of gift, cars and money. It is also not true because not all models want to be seen with society men, especially married men.

Did the number of your admirers increase when you became a model?
Definitely yes. Even when I do not know them, yet they know me. Sometimes, it’s embarrassing, and at times, it’s fun.

Are there challenges attached to being a model?
Yes, so many. Starting from changing what you wear, to places you go to and things you do at events. Moreso, the kind of people that you go out with will also change. There are several changes that one may not be prepared for so soon.

Can you pose nude as a model?
Yes and no. It all depends on the job and scenario. I might pose semi-nude more likely, but not outright nude.

You are into fashion as well. Can you tell us the most expensive fashion item you have?
The most expensive fashion item I have is a wristwatch, a Rolex wristwatch and it cost me so much money. I bought it for N170, 000 or thereabout.

What can we never see you wear?
I can never wear a G-string on stage.

What do you love to wear?
I love short gowns and I wear them a lot.

Which part of your body do you see as your best asset?
I love my smile and I’ve got great legs.

How many pairs of shoes do you have?
I should have more than 50 pairs of shoes and still counting.

Is it a big deal to undress and change into another outfit at a fashion show where male models are?
Of course, it is not a big deal. We are used to it. It’s part of the profession.

Would you say being a model has been profitable?
Yes, it has given me fulfilment, exposure, connections, interactions, global tours and many more.

How come Nigerian models are not really appreciated like the ones abroad?
The nation’s economy is not the same as in Europe and America. So, the remuneration is not the same.

Do you intend to stay slim all your life in order to remain a model?
I can’t really say so; everything will change as I grows and the general changes of life which come naturally.

Do we see you having kids soon or do you think it will affect your shape?
I’m not having kids any time soon. It will come as God gives me the grace to finish with what I am into now and settle for life.

How much were you paid the first time you worked as a model?
It was an MTN campaign 2004 BY TBWA ad agency. We were paid N200,000 for a year exposure
.
How come you decided to be a part of Gulder Ultimate search?
It was for the adventure, exposure and with a view to proving that I’m still sporty, strong and flexible.

Aircraft from Murtala Muhammed International Airport loses engine in mid-air

Aircraft from Murtala Muhammed International Airport loses engine in mid-air
Over 75 passengers and crew narrowly escaped death Thursday as a Rabat, Morocco-bound Royal Air Maroc flight lost one of its engines mid-air.

The flight, which took off at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at about 7:30am, had on board National President of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Garba Mohammed, and seven other Nigerian journalists who were to attend the Federation of Africa Journalists conference in Morocco.

The other journalists include National Secretary, NUJ, Shuaibu Liman, National Treasurer, Fatima Abdulkarim, Mukhtar Gidado, former Vice President, Zone E, Gbenga Onayiga, as well as chairmen of Bauchi and Kogi states chapters of the union.

Also on board the flight was a group of Beninois journalists who were billed to attend the same conference.
Newsmen gathered that the aircraft, Boeing 737-800, was already an hour into the flight when the pilot noticed failure in one of the engines of the twin-engine aircraft.

He was said to have immediately embarked on a return to point of take-off and called for emergency landing.

Lagos airport officials who preferred anonymity, said fire tenders and ambulance vehicles were deployed in response to the emergency declared by the pilot.

Fire hydrants were reportedly deployed in runway 18R where the pilot was expected to land the aircraft, having shed off fuel.

The pilot was, however, said to have landed safely without any injury to passengers and bodily damage to the aircraft.

Passengers who had urgent appointments to keep in Morocco reportedly engaged officials of the airline in war of words for deploying an aircraft deemed not airworthy.
The intervention of airport officials was said to have prevented what could have been an ugly spectacle at the airport.
NUJ President, Garba Mohammed, who thanked God for averting what could have been a major disaster, said the aircraft engines on take-off made some deafening vibrations, which frightened passengers on board.
He quoted the Beninois journalists as saying the engines gave a similar sound when they took off in Cotonou yesterday morning en route Lagos.
At press time, it was learnt that the airline was making arrangements to check the passengers into an hotel as stipulated by international civil aviation regulations, with a promise to airlift them to their destination today.

Kim Kardashian Allegedly “Tweets” “Nigeria is Disgusting, their Women look like Apes”

US reality show and porn movie star, Kim Kardashian reportedly tweeted about her recent visit to Nigeria that

“Nigeria is such a disgusting country. I couldn’t wait to leave. lol Scott said their women look like apes, and I agree.”

Kim was invited to Nigeria and supposedly paid $500,000 by a Nigerian publicity freak, Darey Art Alade for a valentine show.

The US based actress spent barely 20 minutes at the event before jetting back to the United States via the next available Air France flight. Darey has come under tremendous abuse from Nigerians on social media for inviting the pregnant publicity hound, Kim to Nigeria.

Kim Kardashian rose to fame in 2006 after the release of a porn movie she acted with Ray J. Her boyfriend, Kanye West recently said, while seated beside his mother, that before dating Kim, he used her porn movie as a stimulant while with other women.

The tweet does not appear on her timeline at present and may be Photoshopped, but Nigerian tweeters are abuzz with the story, regardless of its authenticity. It’s apparently not what they would not expect.

Boko Haram warns teachers in Borno State to keep away from schools or risk attack

As the debate over amnesty for the Boko Haram sect continues, fears have once again gripped teachers in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, as a group suspected to belong to the Boko Haram sect sent out warnings to primary and secondary school teachers in the town to stop going to school or risk bomb attacks.

NE gathered that some of the teachers received the warning in the morning of Thursday while preparing for the day’s academic programmes in their various schools. According to sources, teachers in schools around Kasuwa Guza Road in Lamisila Ward, Maiduguri, were sternly warned by the group to stay away from school or risk attacks.

The teachers, who were said to have been accosted on their way to school, were said to have been shocked by the threat and quickly left for their various homes.

NE investigations also revealed that since the attack on some primary schools in Maiduguri, during which three teachers were killed and many others were injured, attendance by teachers and students in schools have reduced, as many parents no longer allow their children and wards to attend schools for fear of being attacked.

Meanwhile, the Joint Task Force (JTF) has intensified efforts on patrol and checking of vehicles at all the entry points into the state capital, with a view to arresting any suspected member of the group before they enter the town.

Two brothers in Mgbo Ebonyi State slice neighbour's scrotum over N200

Two brothers in Mgbo Ebonyi State slice neighbour's scrotum over N200
For 22-year-old Sunday Onyike, a Business Administration student of  Yaba College of Technology, Yaba-Lagos, the hope of successfully rounding up his programme with the his peers have been dashed.

This is because of  the prolonged treatment he has been receiving since March, 2011 as a result of  serious injury he sustained during a scuffle with  his neighbours identified as Augustine Eleyi, 28, and  Emeka Eleyi, 32, from Ohozara in Mgbo Ebonyi State.

Sunday, the only son of his parents from Ohafia in Abia State, had his scrotum slashed off during a fight with two of his neighbours.

Narrating the circumstances that led to the problem to Crime Guard at their Makoko residence, the father of the victim, Onyike Okpara,65, stated, I have been living in this compound since 1970. I had five children but only two are alive; that is Sunday and his younger sister who works at LagosIsland.

I occupy two rooms in the building, one room which I sleep in, and the other at the back of the building, where my children sleep. When ever my daughter comes home from work, she buys and shares biscuits, sweets and gala to our neighbours children. So, the children always look forward to her returning from work.

More so, whenever she is sharing these goodies to the children, two of our neighbours, Augustine Eleyi and his elder brother, Emeka Eleyi (who normally sits on the chair I kept in front of my childrens room at the boys quarters to smoke Indian hemp), would always walk up to them, grab what ever is within their grasp, and flee. Instead of them to ask, they would grab what ever they can and run away. My daughter complained about this to me, and I had called and cautioned them to desist from such act, but they would not listen.

On the evening of March 1st, 2011,  she was seated at the boys quarters with some children  sharing some gala when Augustine Eleyi, came and as usual, grabbed one gala and ran away.

My daughter pursued him and in the process, N200 fell from his pocket. She picked it up and said it would serve as a payment for all the gala and biscuits he has been snatching from them.
Later on, on a second thought, she  decided to give him back the money as she thought it was not worth it.

Having searched around for him, and not knowing of his whereabouts, she decided to give him the money the next day.

On the evening of that day which was the 2nd of March, 2011, after she got back from work, she took the money to him at the boys quarters, but he said he does not want it anymore. At that point, an argument ensued between them, during which his younger brother, Emeka Eleyi collected the money from my daughter.

As the argument continued, my son Sunday who was in the room preparing for the next days lecture, told his sister to let the matter be, and go to our main room and sleep, while he asked Augustine and Emeka to leave the place because they were disturbing him with their noise.

Augustine asked him if the place looked like his school hostel, that if he wants to read, he should pack his books and go to his school hostel. As the argument raged, he slapped my son, who grabbed him on his shirt asking what have I done to you?, Emeka rushed to them pretending as if we was going for peace only for him to grab my sons two hands, while Augustine rushed and fetched a sharp object, and used it to slash my sons scrotum.

I feel he actually wanted to cut off his male organ, but missed. My sons cry of agony attracted the attention of passersby, because part of the compound is a thoroughfare; it was these passersby that ran to inform us at the other side of the building.

I ran to the place and met my son in a pool of his blood. On sighting us, the culprits bolted. I wanted to run after them but I was weakened by the sight of my son lying in pains, in the pool of his blood.
I also thought, if I go after them at that point, what would be the fate of my son when I get back, hence I opted to stay back, with the help of the other neighbours and some of our church members, my son was rushed to the State Criminal Investigations Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba,  from where we obtained a note to take him to the hospital. At that time, the GeneralHospital was on strike, we brought my son back to Adekunle Police Station, and they asked us to find a private hospital and take him there.

So, we took him to a private hospital at Iwaya. Augustine and Emeka were later apprehended by neighbours who went after them, and handed over to the police.

Crime Guard learnt that the case has been at the Yaba Magistrates Court since 2011.  Onyike Okpara  further told our reporter that for  one month his son was at the hospital in Iwaya, the Eleyi family only contributed N15,000 for the medical bills. He stated, after the initial N15,000 installment  they brought when Sunday was taken to the hospital, I have not heard from them.
Three times, my pastor and family called them to seek out ways to settle the matter amicably; when they come, they will be dribbling us, they will promise to contribute to the medical bills but we wont hear from them after that. I have so far spent almost N200,000, I have the medical bill to prove that.

He also alleged that some members of the Eleyi family have threatened him to accept their term of payment, which is to pay N40,000, as their contribution; and withdraw the case from court. He stated, On November 18, 2012 at about 9:30pm, they sent six men, out of which I recognized three, they came asking me to sign a document, I could not properly read through because of my poor sight, at that time of the night.

One of them practically told me that so many people die in Lagos every day, and their corpses are never discovered; I would want your corpse to be found. What he meant by that, I do not know. I dont feel safe anymore.

First, they tried to take my son away, now they are threatening me to accept a condition I dont think any of them would accept if it were their son that was involved.

Counsel to the defendant, Worer Obuagbaka, on his part told Crime Guard that what happened between the defendant and the complainant was unfortunate. According to him, they have been living peacefully together for some years, what we are trying to do is to see if we can settle the case amicably. He said the defendants have been granted bail but are still in police custody because they have not been able to perfect their bail.

Church Leaders Angry After Escort Posts Photos Of Herself Naked On Church Altar
A vicar has said the “body is a beautiful thing but there is a time and place for it” after an escort posted photos of herself naked in church, but called the stunt "shameless" and "sacrilegious".
The escort, known only as Gemma, posted the photos of her inside St Bartholomew's Church in the village of Goodnestone, Kent, on a website. One image shows the 22-year-old kneeling down naked on the church altar as she rests her hands on a crucifix - with the stained glass window of the church in the background.
Other images show 'Gemma' from Margate, Kent, naked on a gravestone in the grounds of the 12th century church as leers over a crucifix. Although the church is no longer used for services it us open to the public after being put under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust and designated a Grade I listed building. Reverend John Leach, of St John's Church in nearby Folkestone, Kent, said he was appalled that the sex worker was using the church to sell her services. He said: "The pictures show the loss of the sense of sacred we have in society in general.
"I think it's not on really and it's something I deplore. I think the whole thing is shameless and shows no consideration for those who may have walked past and seen it by accident. "There are those who will be repulsed by the sacrilegious side of it." Another vicar, Reverend Andy Bawtree of St Peter & St Paul Church near Dover, Kent, said: "Although God made the human body a beautiful thing, there is a time and a place for it. "I think this is just sad this young lady has decided to use the church, which is a big part of the community as it houses the post office, in this manner.
"It's a place of joy and worship. Surely there's a better place of meeting people." A spokesman for the Churches Conservation Trust, which manages the building, said: "We're very sorry to hear pictures of this nature have been taken at our church without our permission. "Our churches are open to all as heritage attractions and places of peace and calm, we expect visitors to treat the buildings with the respect they deserve, as well as being respectful of the local community and their use of these buildings."

Man stabs lover to death over sex

A civil servant with the Ministry of Education in Ekiti State (name withheld) has allegedly stabbed his lover to death during an argument which arose between the duo after sex.
The suspect was said to have taken the 24 year old lady, Miss. Tosin Alabi, to a hotel along Ajilosun Road in Ado Ekiti on Saturday , March 24 to catch some fun.
Our correspondent gathered that  an argument arose between the two lovers after they had had sex and the man refused to settle Tosin as earlier agreed.
The lady was said to have insisted that her boyfriend must pay her what he promised before having sex with her and this led to a fight.
The man, who was said to have been slightly drunk grabbed a bottle, broke it and stabbed his girlfriend on the neck and the buttocks.
Sympathizers and some of the hotel workers were said to have rushed the lady to a nearby hospital but there was no doctor to attend to her and she was taken to the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti where she was confirmed dead.
The boyfriend was said to have escaped and went into hiding since the incident happened and has not been found.
Another source told journalists that a man took the lady to the hotel for clubbing but another man hijacked her and had sex with her. The fight which led to Tosin’s death was said to have broken out between her and the man who hijacked her at the hotel.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Victor Babayemi, told our correspondent that he was not aware of the incident because he had been away from the state for more than a week.
He promised to send the telephone  number of a police officer for reaction to the incident but he was yet to do so as at the time of filing this report.
One of the brothers of the deceased, Mr. Paul Owolabi, told  journalists that he gathered from the hotel that the man who took Tosin to the hotel stabbed her to death as a result of dispute over how much to pay her after having sex with her.
Owolabi accused the police of trying to cover the man who committed the crime but he said that the family would not allow this to happen.
He said. “By now, the police ought to have made some arrest including the owner of the hotel. The police said the father of Tosin’s boy friend was arrested but was later released. We don’t know why the police should hurriedly release the man whose son stabbed our sister to death when the killer is still in the hiding.
“We  are suspecting a foul play. The police are not making any effort to get to the root of the matter and we are disappointed.  We want the police to do a thorough job, the killer must be apprehended and prosecuted.

Campaigners including Richard Dawkins have
called for a day of action to support a young
Tunisian woman who appeared to post pictures of
herself topless as part of a feminist movement in
the country, and was subsequently threatened
with death by stoning. The 19-year-old activist, identified only as Amina,
posted on the Femen-Tunisian Facebook page a
topless picture of herself with the words “F**k
your morals” written across her chest. Another controversial image followed, of the
woman smoking a cigarette, baring her breasts,
with the Arabic written across her chest: “My body
belongs to me, and is not the source of anyone’s
honour”. Tunisian newspaper Kapitalis quoted the Wahabi
Salafi preacher Almi Adel, who heads the
Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and
Prevention of Vice, saying: “The young lady should
be punished according to sharia, with 80 to 100
lashes, but [because of] the severity of the act she has committed, she deserves be stoned to death. “Her act could bring about an epidemic. It could be
contagious and give ideas to other women. It is
therefore necessary to isolate [the incident]. I
wish her to be healed.” If she committed the offense in Tunisia, Amina
could be punished by up to two years in prison and
a fine of 100 to 1,000 dinars [between £40 and

Sylvester Ehijele, 47, Rapes 7 Year Old Daughter And One Year Old Granddaughter

A seven-year-old girl (name withheld), has accused her 49-
year-old father of rape. The girl said her father, Sylvester Ehijele, had on numerous occasions had sex with her, adding that he used to promise
to buy her goodies and toys before the actions. She said he usually had sex with her on a daily basis
whenever her mother was not home. She said, “Whenever my mum is not at home, he grabs me,
forces his hand over my mouth and then inserts his penis
into my private part. He promises to buy me a car, cake and
biscuit but he doesn’t buy anything for me. “He also threatens to use a knife to gouge my eyes out
anytime I threaten to report to my mother.” Sylvester’s wife, Margaret, told NAIJA AMEBO that he (Ehijele) also raped their 23-year-old daughter when she was
much younger and recently, he raped their one-year-old granddaughter that lives with them. She said, “I am a caterer. In 2006 I went to Abuja for a catering job where I spent five days. But at about 1am, my
first daughter, who was about 17-years-old at the time, called me on the phone crying that her father raped her that
night. “When I returned, I confronted him but he beat me up and he continued to molest our daughter and each time I
confronted him, it earned me a beating. I had no choice but to leave him when I got fed up with seeing him molesting
our daughter and later sleeping with me. I took my six children and we relocated.” She said in 2011, Sylvester’s family settled their differences and urged the couple to reconcile for the sake of the
children. She said her husband swore never to touch any of his daughters again and she reluctantly returned to her husband’s
house. Margaret said she was however disappointed to find out that less than a year after moving in with her husband, he
went back to his old ways. She said, “We reconciled in May 2011 and I really thought he had changed but in August last year, I caught him in a
compromising situation with our seven-year-old daughter. I called her out and she told me how her father had
constantly been abusing her. “Again, I confronted him and he beat me up. I had to pick my daughter and ran to his brother’s house, where I
stayed for three days before I went back home.” Mrs. Ehijele said she continued to cope with her husband’s ways until he finally raped their 15-month-old
granddaughter. She said, “Because my oldest daughter works, we decided to put her daughter baby at a day care in Ejigbo. I have
always been the only one that brings her back at 6pm everyday from the day care. But on that particular day, my
husband went to the day care and after an altercation with the teacher, he took the baby home. “He took the baby home and hours later the baby was crying profusely. When I got home, the baby was still crying
and I wondered what was wrong. When I finally took off her diapers so I could bathe her, I noticed she was bleeding
in her private part. When I raised the alarm, my husband was unnerved. That was when I suspected him. “I rushed down to the Ejigbo Police Station and reported the matter.” Margaret said she had been married to the suspect for over 23 years and lamented that he had had carnal
knowledge of all their daughters. “I have two daughters, four sons and a granddaughter. Sadly, my husband has raped all of the females,” she said. The Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, said the suspect would soon be charged to court on charges of
defilement. “The suspect is in the habit of sleeping with his daughters and now his granddaughter. We have the doctor’s report
which shows that the girls have been defiled,” she said. A copy of medical report issued by the Isolo General Hospital reads in part that, “The vaginal hymens of the girls are
no longer intact.” Sylvester however denied the allegation, adding that it was his wife that poisoned his daughters’ minds against him. He said his wife left him initially because he had refused to pay her dowry. He said, “If I was the one that raped them, let me die. My wife and I were separated for four years and it was
because her family said I hadn’t paid her bride price. After we reconciled, she told my daughters to tell lies against
me in order to disgrace me. “Even my oldest daughter confessed to my family that I never raped her and that it was my wife that told her to lie.” When quizzed about the medical report, Sylvester said it was not authentic.

Housewife In Lagos State Dies After Intercourse With Neighbour

The price for adultery is fatal when one considers what
happened recently in Badagry area Lagos State, southwest
Nigeria, where a housewife died during sex with her
neighbour, who is also married to another woman. The man, Lawrence Chukwuma, landed in trouble after he
had sex with Mrs Lucy Joseph, 24 and the woman died in
the process. The incident happened at 2nd Avenue, Oke-Morosun
Magbon area of Badagry. On the fateful day, the 48-year old Chukwuma from
Anambra State, southeast Nigeria, reportedly woke up early
and pretended that he was going to pursue his business and
later came back when his own wife and Lucy’s husband had
gone out. It was gathered that while Chukwuma and Lucy were having the best of time, she suddenly started breathing heavily
and became unconscious. Before Lucy was taken to hospital, she had already died and the doctors merely
confirmed her dead. It was not certain what actually caused her death, but her body has been deposited at the Badagry General Hospital
for autopsy. The matter was reported at the Badagary police division and Chukwuma, who also has three children, was arrested
and the matter was transferred to SCID, Panti, Yaba for further investigation. After investigation, the police charged him to Ebute-meta Magistrate’s court for causing Lucy’s death through
unlawful carnal knowledge of her. His plea was not taken. The court ordered him to be remanded in prison custody at Ikoyi pending the outcome of the autopsy report and
DPP’s advice. The father of the late Lucy, Joseph Ebieme, who comfirmed the incident, said he was at his work place when he
was called on his phone line and told what happened. He said when he rushed home and went to Lawrence’s house,
his daughter was already dead. When P.M.NEWS visited the home of the deseased, the husband was not around to comment on the matter. The younger sister of the deseased, Blessing Ebieme, said she came from her house in Ikorodu area to Badagry to
take care of the children Lucy left behind. Lucy hailed from Eket in Akwa Ibom State and had three children, Joy, 12, Isaiah 10, and Miracle, 5.

Chinua Achebe, The Eagle On The Iroko Is Dead!

Tragedy has befallen the land. The iroko has fallen. The
Eagle On The Iroko, Prof. Chinua Achebe, is dead. Chinua Achebe, one of the world’s most celebrated writers
and author of the classic novel Things Fall Apart, is dead. He died last night in a hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.
Professor Achebe had been sick for some time. He was 82, having been born on November 16, 1930, and
had been in hospital in recent days. Achebe is best known for his classical novel Things fall
Apart. His last book, There Was A Country: A Personal
History of Biafra, is still making waves. Until his death, Prof Achebe was the David and Marianna Fisher University Professor and Professor of Africana Studies at Brown. Below is how the university profiled him on its website. “Nigerian writer Chinua Achebe is known the world over for having played a seminal role in the founding and
development of African literature. He continues to be considered among the most significant world writers. He is
most well known for the groundbreaking 1958 novel Things Fall Apart, a novel still considered to be required reading
the world over. It has sold over twelve million copies and has been translated into more than fifty languages. “Achebe’s global significance lies not only in his talent and recognition as a writer, but also as a critical thinker and
essayist who has written extensively on questions of the role of culture in Africa and the social and political
significance of aesthetics and analysis of the postcolonial state in Africa. He is renowned, for example, for “An
Image of Africa,” his trenchant and famous critique of Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness. Today, this critique is
recognized as one of the most generative interventions on Conrad; and one that opened the social study of literary
texts, particularly the impact of power relations on 20th century literary imagination. “In addition, Achebe is distinguished in his substantial and weighty investment in the building of literary arts
institutions. His work as the founding editor of the Heinemann African Writers Series led to his editing over one
hundred titles in it. Achebe also edited the University of Nsukka journal Nsukkascope, founded Okike: A Nigerian
Journal of New Writingand assisted in the founding of a publishing house, Nwamife Books–an organization
responsible for publishing other groundbreaking work by award-winning writers. He continues his long-standing work
on the development of institutional spaces where writers can be published and develop creative and intellectual community.” More details soon...

Hausa Residents Flee Onitsha City Following Kano Bombing

On Tuesday, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike said that there will be
no reprisal on northerners in the South-East after the bus
bombing in Kano on Monday that killed more than 30
people. Uwazuruike is the leader of the Movement for the
Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB). “We are not known for bloodletting and Ndigbo cannot be
cowed into shedding blood but we want an end to this
senseless bloodletting of the Igbo in the North in whatever
name called,” he said. Uwazuruike’s assurance came as Hausa residents in
Onitsha shut their shops and fled the city they fear
reprisals. The non-indigenes who are mainly composed of northerners
closed all of their businesses at the Head Bridge Market and other parts of the city in order to secure themselves in different security stations which include the police stations
and Army barracks. Ndigbo Unity Forum Chairman Augustine Chukwudum and Anambra Traders’ Forum Chairman Dede Uzor
condemned the Kano attack and said that it is a threat to the unity of the country. The 2 chairmen also praised Onitsha 302 Army Cantonment Commander Col T. Gagariga, Navy Commander A.
Ahmed, and Onitsha Area Police Commander Benjamin Wordu for their prompt intervention and efforts in calming
the people in Onitsha. “We call on the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency in Kano, Borno, Gombe, Yobe, and Adamawa
states. That is the only option left to stop these killings of Ndigbo in the northern states of Nigeria. We call on Federal Government to compensate the families of those who lost their loved ones in the attack. Let
security men take full control of the situation and provide security for Ndigbo in the North,” Chukwudum said.

Kano Bomb Survivor - I Thought Bombers Were Potential Passengers

As the smoke cleared from the New Road Luxury Bus Motor
Park, in Sabon Gari Kano, victims of the terror attack, who
were lucky to be alive to tell their stories, on Tuesday
recalled moments before the bomb went off. Most of the injured victims are currently receiving medical
attention at the Murtala Mohammed Memorial Hospital,
Kano. One of the victims, Mr. Emmanuel Bassey, 37, who works
at the Luxury bus park as a park attendant attached to
Ezewanta Transport, said he was hurt but lucky and happy
to be alive. In a telephone interview with our correspondent, (before
hospital staff ended the encounter), he was full of gratitude
to God for sparing his life. According to him, he and several of his colleagues were going about their normal duties of attracting passengers to board buses for a commission when a small car with two
occupants came into the park. “I rushed to them faster than most of my colleagues. I went and asked them where they were going and one of them
said they had yet to decide and that when they decided they would let me know. I left them and went away. “But four of my other colleagues rushed to the car when they saw that I did not succeed. “As they approached the vehicle, the driver sped off and headed towards some of the parked buses. Almost
immediately, I heard a deafening sound! Then a thick black smoke and fire; there was confusion everywhere. I thank
God I am lucky to be alive, my other colleagues died.” He was not alone, Magawa Goje, 45, a retailer of dried beef, popularly called Kilishi, also counted himself lucky. Goge said, “I sell Kilishi (dried beef) at the Sabon Gari Luxury bus park. I was busy selling my Kilishi to people who
are getting on the bus when I heard a loud band and felt a sharp pain on my chin. That is all I can remember before I
woke up on this bed. I heard people saying Boko Haram did this. Whoever did this will rot in the hottest part of hell.
Allah will surely judge them.” Meanwhile, traders in and around the park have relocated into other areas of Sabon Gari as rumours of reprisals
continued to fill the air. Security has also been beefed up around places of worship.

Man Born Without Penis, His surgeons to build from scratch a new penis that can pass urine, have feeling, make sex possible and look natural too!!! -_-

A man’s arm is lending him a hand to fix his penis
problem. Andrew Wardle, a 39-year-old British man born
without a penis, will undergo three surgeries over the next year to craft a male sex organ out of his own arm,
according to the Sun. Wardle was born with an ectopic bladder, meaning it’s
outside of his body. An estimated one in 30 million men are born with the condition, which “usually sees a small fold of skin, less than an inch long, in place of
the penis,” according to HuffPost UK. Several operations corrected bladder and kidney
problems and enabled him to urinate through a tube. Verging on suicide a few years ago because of his
missing manhood. Wardle visited a doctor who said
it’s possible to fabricate a functioning member. From the Sun: His surgeons must build from scratch a new
penis that can pass urine, have feeling, make
sex possible and look natural too. They’ll use a
large flap of forearm skin, with its blood
vessels and nerves, fold it into a tube like a
Swiss roll and graft it on to the pubic area. Despite not being able to have “full sex” with
women, Wardle boasted he’s had more than 100 partners, according to HuffPost UK. “Most of the time they didn’t seem too bothered –
they liked the fact I could pleasure them in other ways
and never expected anything in return,” Wardle said.
“Only once has telling a woman I don’t have a penis
turned out badly. She got angry and punched me in
the face.” The procedure Wardle will undergo is rare, but not
unheard of. Last month, Mohammed Abad of Edinburgh, Scotland made headlines when he decided to undergo a similar surgery after he lost his penis in a
car accident, according to the International Business
Times.

Mistaken identity: Police kill trader during operation

Policemen attached to the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad have been accused of killing a 46-year-old petty trader in Ijaye-Ojokoro, Lagos State. PUNCH Metro learnt that the deceased, Eze Okoro, was killed last Friday while the policemen were on an anti-robbery operation. The deceased's wife ,Ugonna, alleged that the policemen snuffed out the life of Eze few metres from his residence at 1 Oguntolu Street, Ijaiye-Ojokoro. Ugonna said her husband of over 15 years had just finished eating and had gone to relax with a neighbour, Chinedu Nnwanu, and his pregnant wife, Nneka as he usually did when there was power outage at night. She said, "My husband had just finished having dinner and he stepped outside to see our neighbours who live opposite our house. They usually relax outside whenever there is power outage. "A few minutes before 11pm, we heard sporadic gunshots and out of panic, I held unto my seven-year-old son and ran for cover. Few minutes later when the shooting abated, I tried to reach my husband on his mobile phone but he was not picking it up." Ugonna said at that point she started to imagine that something was amiss. "I summoned courage and stepped out of the compound and immediately noticed that my husband and his friends were not at the spot. I started yelling out my husband's name but there was no answer," she said. She said after some time, some neighbours informed her that from their windows, they observed some policemen carrying a man whom they suspected was lifeless into their vehicle. In a state of confusion, she was able to pull a call through to some of her siblings and that of her husband who immediately formed a search party for their relation and the policemen who were alleged to have taken away the body She said they visited the Ijaye-Ojokoro Police Station under whose jurisdiction the incident occurred but all attempts to locate her husband proved abortive. "Our search that night failed to yield the expected result as the officers on duty claimed that no such incident was ever reported to them neither had any team of policemen told them that they were operating in the area," she said. Eze's widow said the following day, some employees of a hotel in the area told her that the policemen who had come to operate the previous night were from the Federal SARS. She said she was told by a senior officer that her husband was killed in error and that his corpse had been taken to Yaba Military Hospital's morgue. "On getting to Federal SARS command, some junior officers apparently wanting to cover up their colleagues' error denied the command's complicity in the killing. However, a senior officer intervened by not only admitting that they killed Eze in error, but informed that his corpse was deposited at the Yaba Military Hospital's morgue," she said. A resident, who craved anonymity, said the policemen had also attempted to kill others in the area after mistaking them for robbers but Eze was the only unfortunate person. He said, "When the shooting started, Eze and his friends were running helter-skelter. The policemen first of all approached Nneka but she immediately shouted 'please don't shoot me, I am pregnant'. That was how she and her husband were spared. "After Nneka and Chinedu got inside, we heard Eze begging the policemen and shouting that he was not a thief but the policemen obviously did not believe him because we heard gunshots soon after." Eze's widow called on the police authorities to make sure that her husband's killers were brought to justice. When contacted on the telephone, the spokesman for the Federal SARS, Lekan Ogundare, said he was not aware of the incident but promised to find out.

FG suspends Dana Air's licence again

The Federal Government has once again suspended the operating licence of Dana Air pending the resolution of certain safety issues, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has said. This is coming barely three months after the airline resumed operations following a seven-month suspension after its Boeing Md-83 crashed in Lagos, killing 163 people The Acting Director-General, NCAA, Mr. Joyce Nkemakolam, who confirmed the development in a telephone interview with our correspondent on Sunday, said the suspension, which took effect on Saturday morning, would last until the safety issues were rectified by
the carrier. He said the suspension followed a directive from the Ministry of Aviation, asking the airline to stop operation until "some safety issues that cropped up over the weekend were resolved." The acting DG said the Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, had invited officials of Dana Air to a meeting in Abuja today (Monday) over the development. Nkemakolam said that once the safety concerns were addressed by the airline, it would be permitted to resume flight operations. Asked whether Dana Air Operator's Certificate had been withdrawn by the regulatory authority as reported by some sections of the media (not The PUNCH) on Sunday, Nkemakolam said, "I don't know about revocation. Their flights were asked to be suspended until some safety concerns that cropped up over the weekend were addressed." Reacting to the development, Dana said the NCAA had asked it to suspend operations without giving any specific reason. It was learnt that the safety issues happened on one of its flights in Abuja over the weekend. But unconfirmed sources said the battery of one of the airline's plane was found to have been dead in Abuja. A statement by the Head, Corporate Communications, Dana Air, Mr. Tony Usidamen, said, "We regret to announce the temporary suspension of our flight operations following a directive from the Ministry of Aviation through the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority on Saturday, March 16, 2013; no specific reason was given for the action. "A meeting is, however, scheduled between the management of Dana Air, the Ministry of Aviation and the NCAA on Monday, March 18, and we will update you as we get more information. We thank you for your patience and understanding, and we look forward to having the pleasure of welcoming you on board again shortly." The Senate Committee on Aviation had a few months ago recommended that the Federal Government should revoke the operating licence
of Dana Air, saying it was not issued in line with standard safety procedures. The committee also recommended the removal of the former DG of NCAA, Dr. Harold Demuren.
