Hoodlums rob ex-Speaker’s parents

Gunmen have robbed the octogenarian parents of ex-Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Chief Adejare
Bello, in Ede, on Tuesday. It was gathered that the robbers stormed the residence of the aged couple in Agip area of Ede around 3:45pm,
ordering everyone in the house to lie face down. They took away the phones of the 85-year-old man, Pa Bello, and his wife, Monilola. The couple, who said they were not hurt by the robbers, expressed shock that young people could have the
effrontery to rob an old couple in broad daylight. Two daughters of the couple, Samura and Shaki, who came on a visit to their parents, also lost their phones
and an undisclosed amount of money to the bandits. The ex-Speaker, who spoke on phone with our correspondent, decried the robbery, saying the case had been
reported at Ede-South Police Station. “They attacked the driver of my dad, whose mouth was bloodied. They took away phones and money from
my parents and those they met in the house,” he said.
